Frequently Asked Questions
Can you supply Shelters other than the ones shown on the Shelter-Depot.com site?

Yes we do carry other sizes other than what we show on our site. Please email sales@shelter-depot.com with your shelter and tarps request and we will do our best to help you.

How long will it take to receive my tarp order?
Shelter-Depot ships your shelter or tarps within 24/48 hours of receiving the order and on many occasions well within this time span. Therefore your order will be
packed & dispatched within 48 hours after the order was placed. We have warehouses on the East and West coast of the USA therefore the average shipping time
is 7/10 days for shelters & 3/4 days for tarps on top of the 2 day processing time. If you need your tarp in a hurry, please order using the various shipping upgrades. We use UPS ground for shipping our tarps. Larger orders are shipped by various trucking companies we use and can take longer transit times than UPS.Please allow plenty of time for shipping larger shelters.

Does Shelter -Depot.com accept purchase orders?
Yes we welcome purchase orders. Please fax your order on an official company headed paper. We may ask for you to set up an account with us. This may sometimes take a few days to carry out all the necessary credit checks. For government departments and larger corporations the setting up of a credit account is not required

What is the best Shelter or Tarp to buy?
All our shelters and tarps offer outstanding value for money and can be used for many applications. All our tarps are supplied with ropereinforced hems, rust free grommets and have a UV inhibitor added to the tarp helping protect your investment against the suns rays. All shelteare made from some the the strongest woven poly tarps available on the market and are supplied with a UV inhibitor in the waterproof polyethylene.

What does cut size mean?
The best way to explain this is that the tarp is cut from a sheet of poly tarp material, for example a 6ft x 8ft. However, when the hems and grommets are made, the tarp can be up to 6 inches shorter on the length and breadth. Please allow for this when ordering. Most poly tarps are sold this way and has been an industry standard for many years. Cut size does not apply to shelters.

Will my Shelter or Tarp be waterproof at the time of purchase?
Yes, fully waterproof and guaranteed. However, we are unable to guarantee the shelter or tarp will always be waterproof due to the many conditions under which customers use the product to which we are not liable.

What is the best way to tie down the Shelter or Tarp?
Shelters are sold with a full set of instructions and are supplied with the necessary stakes or pegs to stabilise your shelter. Ball bungees are the best way to tie down tarps. We can supply these items in 6-inch, 9-inch, or 11-inch lengths. The alternative is to use blue poly rope, although this is not as flexible, though it is a cheap alternative.

If I need a tarp to cut out the maximum amount of ultraviolet light, which one do I purchase?
We would recommend our SUPER HEAVY DUTY WHITE/SILVER 11 oz tarp. This tarp has has a black mesh incorporated within the tarp and is regarded as giving the maximum amount of sun block.

How do the Shelters And Tarps stand up to prolonged periods of wind?
Our shelters & tarps stand up to prolonged periods of wind; however; we would recommend the heavier duty tarps for this situation and suggest that you make sure the tarp is tied down with bungees or rope. Wind can cause friction on the tarp, and this will be the first thing that will destroy the tarp. Therefore make sure the tarp is fastened down - this is most important. We are unable to guarantee our shelters or tarps against hurricane force winds. However, our tarps are ideal for protecting buildings, etc. after hurricane damage. With regard to Canopies and shelters always follow the instruction that are supplied with your purchase.

Can I return my shelter tarp or canopy after I have removed the packaging?
No, once the package has been opened, we are unable to accept returns. However, if for some reason you order a tarp needs to be returned because you have changed your mind or have no further use of the tarp, you can send it back at your cost. We then deduct a 15% restockingcharge and refund your credit card accordingly. Shelters cannot be returned id any component is faulty or damaged when the product is received we will replace the faulty component at our cost.

How can I cancel my order?
Due to the large amount of orders we process, it can be difficult for us to locate your order once processing has started. It will be necessary to call to cancel your order within 1 to 5 hours. However, we cannot promise that we will be able to stop your order from being dispatched, as it could have already been shipped with UPS or the trucking company. If your package has been shipped you will need to return the parcel as stated above which will incur a restocking fee. If you do not accept delivery of your order you will incur the returned shipping charge that UPS or the trucking charge and we will bill you 25% re stocking charge.
